The Frame is Coming to Life!

The frame is made out of aluminum. Covering the frame is a steel exoskeleton. The
robot runs on a direct drive train powered by CIM motors. In each of the four corners are Omni wheels. Since the corners are Omni wheels, the pivot point of the robot will be in the center, making it easier to aim the robot.

Thank you Freshmen!

Thank you to all the Freshmen who stopped at our Robotics Table! We hope to see you at the interest meeting in September.

Don’t forget! September 12th, 2013, 7PM room N12!

The Season’s Over!

A long and hard fought 2013!  We left the 2013 North Star Regionals with a still functioning robot and a better vision for next year.  Everyone was involved and the robot performed pretty flawlessly.

Final Schedule for Competition

Wednesday

Duck, Adric, Matt H, Joe H will be meeting at the school to load the robot, toolbox, and battery box.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Everyone interested in going on Thursday must contact Duck! We will be meeting at the school at 7:00AM! If you’re not there then we will leave without you.  We will be getting back to the school at roughly 6:00PM.  We will do our best to make provisions for folks to call their parents when we are on our way home.

WEAR YOUR TEAM GEAR!  Especially important for Friday and Saturday!  I’d like to take some team pictures on Friday!

Special Notes About Saturday

We will be playing the end-time of Saturday by-ear. After the robot is packed up then many of you will be able to leave if we are not in finals.  No matter what you do, you need to let Duck know if you are coming or going.

Food

We will be going out for lunches on all three days please bring money, it will be roughly $10 per day for a lunch in Dinkytown.  Do not bring in food.  Do not try to sneak it in.  If you do so, I will ask you to call your parents for a ride home and you will not be welcome back.  We are getting very stern messages from tournament staff about this.

Thanks everyone, really looking forward to regionals!

Monday 2/18 and Tuesday 2/19

It does not look like we’ll be heading down to St. Peter — but that does not mean we cannot practice and build!

Here’s the schedule:

  • Monday Night 2/18/2013, 7:00PM-9:30PM. We’ll be going a little bit later.  The plan is to get the robot fully into compliance with our inspection notes, then more driving practice.
  • Tuesday Night 2/19/2013, 7:00PM-9:00PM. Regular times, the plan is to take the bumpers off, then bag ‘n’ tag! There will be cookies, it’s time to celebrate a little!

This schedule is final!
